Our client is a leading supplier of Medical Device equipment in the Hospital Sector across Ireland. Due to growth of their Irish team, they are seeking an Account Manager in the Leinster area to sell the Medical Beds & Therapeutics Surfaces portfolio. This is an established territory so there will be excellent training provided to the person who gets the role. The successful person shall deliver profitable sales within the designated sector with MBTS product portfolio, manage personal efficiency and effectiveness, achieve targeted KPI’S and quality standards and deliver sustainable sales & market share growth. A strong Business Development and networking ability is required for this role. Its is very customer focussed – long term relationships & building on a strong base of customers already on the territory. You will be calling on public & private Hospitals as well as Nursing homes on a daily basis. Must have a full Irish driver’s licence.


  • Sell products and solutions to customers to achieve targets and exceed them whenever possible, promoting our client products and solutions to existing and potential customers by individual sales activities and in acute care, more group sales activities (e.g., supporting trials, making presentations and arranging visits to reference sites) and in long-term care, negotiating on individual sales with accounts.
  • Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims and annual/cycle territory plans. Maximise efficiency and productivity, particularly to optimise customer-facing activities within the designated territory.
  • Use Account Planning tools to prepare agreed Account Plans for major accounts, in conjunction with other our clients personnel supporting the account. Liaise with our clients’ personnel in the same area to coordinate company activities to achieve company objectives.
  • Maintain a level of specialist clinical knowledge (e.g., ergonomic / tissue viability), at higher level in acute care for working with specialists, and conduct assessments, which are essential to meet contractual requirements long-term care.
  • Monitor and report on personal, customer, market and competitor activities and provide relevant forecasts, reports and information as required directly or within a CRM system.
  • If and when required, attend exhibitions and events in Ireland and the UK.
  • Communicate effectively with the area team and support teams, so that customer quotations, orders and enquiries are handled promptly at all times.
  • Keep up to date with our client’s product range, attend relevant training. Share knowledge and expertise with the team members and new colleagues.
  • Adhere and comply with our clients’ code of conduct, policies, procedures and standards. Compliance to UK&I regulations and legislations including Health & Safety, Anti-bribery and completion Law.
  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.


  • Degree in Healthcare/Science or Business.
  • Must have good commercial / sales experience gained preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Experience of working within a medical technology company ideal, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of using CRM (salesforce).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both and face to face and over the telephone.
  • Demonstrating a high level of customer service, professionalism and empathy for others at all times. Confidently handling difficult conversations with customers.
  • Able to problem solve and seek solutions logically in challenging situations using initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Demonstrate a motivated and passionate approach to work, taking ownership for tasks.
  • Planning and organising to manage time, KPI’s and workload effectively.

Other Essential Requirements:

  • IT is essential to have excellent written and spoken English.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland (essential).
  • Driving Licence: Required to hold a valid Irish driver’s licence.
  • Travel: Ability to travel within the UK and abroad with overnight stays as and when required.
  • Enhanced Garda Vetting clearance: Required at the cost of our client.
  • Must have good Microsoft Office Skills namely Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
