Leading, worldwide FMCG are seeking a Buyer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.  This is an exciting opportunity within an international business giant where you will assist in the implementation of the strategic plan for the category of the business to maximise sales and profit contribution in line with the company objectives.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and growing trade partner relationships, assisting with sourcing and development of the category products as well as implementing and executing initiatives in line with company objectives.


  • Develop leading edge Sourcing Strategies, Category Plans and Procurement plans focused on optimal outcomes
  • Manage supplier relationships for the optimal benefit of the company to ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase
  • Actively manage appropriate sourcing strategies, supply market risks and opportunities so as to ensure delivery of “best value for money” outcomes.
  • Driving new product innovation and development, managing the process from concept to launch
  • Developing category plans to drive the strategic agenda 
  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships
  • Supplier data maintenance
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and in line with business processes
  • Prepare, attend and participate in team meetings
  • Maintain product/price data integrity upon receiving update notification
  • Implement and manage promotional programs to maximise business sales opportunities


  • Under-graduate degree in business/commerce or in a profession relevant to the roll, or equivalent experience.
  • A proven track record in persuading & influencing suppliers, customers, senior management and line managers.
  • High level computer skills with advanced excel skills essential (This is essential)
  • Ideally prior experience in cost price maintenance, promotions management/communication
  • FMCG industry desired
  • High level of MS office competency
  • Administrative, communication, planning, interpersonal, analytical skills
  • A high level of understanding the product market(s) and general business dynamics
