We at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons, a leading dynamic healthcare facility in the mid-west region are pleased to announce we are recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager 3 – Infection Prevention & Control for our elective surgical hospital based in the heart of Limerick City. Both part-time and full-time applications will be considered for this permanent position.

The successful candidate will lead and co-ordinate the established Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C) Programme and will work closely with the Consultant Microbiologist in providing and maintaining a comprehensive infection prevention & control programme for the Hospital.

Bon Secours Health System (BSHS), the country’s largest private hospital operator, is developing a new 140-bed medical facility on a 7-acre site at Ballysimon to the east of Limerick City. Located at a key transport artery into Limerick, one kilometre from Junction 29 and the M7 Motorway, the site was selected for its ease of access for people travelling from other parts of the Mid-West and Midlands.

This commitment will see the expansion of surgical specialties currently delivered at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons plus the addition of cardiology, MAU and other medical services.

Design of the new hospital has already commenced, and a planning application has been lodged.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, progressive and talented Clinical Nurse Manager 3 – Infection Prevention & Control to join our nurse management team in the present hospital and also contribute to the planning of this wonderful new state of the art facility.

Essential Criteria:

Be registered in the General Division of register of Nurses kept by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)

Have completed a recognised Post Graduate Qualification in Infection Prevention & Control

Have a minimum of five years post registration experience, one of which must be recent experience in the specialist area of Infection Prevention & Control

Must have strong ‘people management’ and change management experience

Have recent & relevant acute hospital experience

Must possess strong leadership qualities, communication skills and clinical skills

Demonstrable commitment to patient Safety & Quality

Excellent organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative

To practice within and support the Bon Secours Mission and Values, policies, procedures, guidelines, and new initiatives as directed / introduced by the hospital
