Role/ Department:

The role is within Depositary Operations helping to ensure that Northern Trust fulfils its oversight responsibilities under the Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive (AIFMD), UCITS V and other regulatory requirements.

The primary responsibilities will be in the area of Asset Verification & Asset Acquisition activities.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Interpret information from Investment Managers to gain understanding of an Alternative investment;
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to ensure regulatory requirements are met;
  • Perform and review Asset Verification activities, sourcing appropriate documentation to verify ownership of the Fund over “Other Assets”;
  • Support Partner development, enhancing the careers/experience for partners within Depositary Operations
  • Involvement in change management of processes as required;
  • Participate/chair on meetings with relevant internal and external parties;
  • Participating in ensuring governance procedures are being adhered to;
  • Ensuring new clients and new funds are incorporated into relevant processes;
  • Responsibility for reporting requirements for both internal and external clients are achieved within agreed timeframes.

Skills/ Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Excellent understanding of Private Equity type investments, like Limited Partnerships, Private Debt etc. a requirement;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external parties;
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment;
  • Ability to review and approve other partner’s work;
  • Ability to drive change through initiative and collaboration.
