We are currently looking for a Costing and Claims Manager to strengthen our Project Management department for the construction of wind farms. This role can be based in Tralee, or Santry, Dublin with hybrid working from home available two days a week.

This is a fulltime permanent position. You will be directly employed by the company. This role is responsible for managing contractual obligations, ensuring the management of risks and opportunities, contributing to the improvement of project profitability by identifying adjustment opportunities. The successful applicant is also responsible for monitoring project costs.

This is a Junior to mid experienced role. We will accept recent college graduates with 2 to 3 years min experience.


In the bidding phase, interfacing with members of the project and sales teams, the Costing and Claims Manager will

  • Estimate the construction costs of wind farm projects;
  • Participate in the drafting and negotiation of contracts with the client, partners and subcontractors, ensuring the consistency of their contractual content;
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities, especially contractual risks, ensuring that all risks associated with the bid are identified and mitigation strategies are defined;
  • Determine, on a reasoned basis, the amount of provision for contractual risks to be included in the costing;
  • Evaluate the consistency between the proposed solution, the organisation identified to deliver it, the content of the contractual packages and the contractual clauses;

During the project phase, the Costing and Claims Manager will monitor costs and advise the project manager on the execution of contracts, ensuring that the commitments made by all parties are respected, in accordance with the execution reference framework. In this respect, he/she will:

  • Strengthen the focus on costs within the project team by involving all project members in regular meetings;
  • Control, manage and monitor the costs of the entire project;
  • Carry out commercial reporting to the project team or to management in accordance with the processes in place;
  • Validate invoices and claims from subcontractors;
  • Manage all client and subcontractor contracts throughout the project phase;
  • Explain the content of the contractual reference framework to the project team, keep it up to date, trace and deal with any discrepancies and formalize changes to it;
  • Identify the risks that need to be eliminated, those that are proven, as well as detect new risks and, more generally, ensure that the risk management plans are properly implemented;
  • Establish and maintain a complaints log containing all supporting information relating to these complaints;
  • Managing disagreements in order to obtain an amicable resolution of the dispute, failing which, compiling the litigation file in conjunction with the legal department;

Your Profile:

  • 3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong knowledge of Claim / Project / Contract Management in the construction industry is essential
  • Previous experience working with SAP is a distinct advantage 
  • Proficiency in all MS Office packages is essential
  • Full clean driving licence is essential
  • Independent and self-motivated working style, analytical with good communication skills
  • A willingness to travel internationally
