38th Saint Luke’s Annual Lecture

Call for Expressions of Interest

The annual Saint Luke’s Lecture has attracted a distinguished list of speakers over the years and its prestige is recognised by the award of the highest medal from the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland. We are pleased to announce the first call for applications to deliver the 38th St Luke’s Lecture. Applicants’ expertise will be in the field of oncology and the lecture will embody original observations or research. It will be delivered on the evening of Wednesday 23rd January 2013 at RCPI, Number 6, Kildare Street, Dublin 2.

Applications are also invited for The 10th Saint Luke’s Young Investigator Award, 2013

This is the tenth year of the award. Applicants should be in their early years of oncology research.
Applicants will in normal circumstances be no more than 5 years post MD/PhD or equivalent level. Young
researchers in the field of clinical and/or basic and/or translational oncology research are encouraged to
apply.

You must submit

1. An abstract of your work including data (<500 words). If in collaboration please indicate your specific role in the research
study.

2. Brief CV including any publications.

Four finalists will be selected to deliver a presentation (10 min, 5 min questions) of their research prior to the
delivery of the St Luke’s Lecture on the evening of Wednesday 23rd January 2013. The winner will receive a
bursury and a Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland Bronze Medal.
