Job Purpose


As Finance Manager within the Irish Life Group Financial Control Team, you will be a key member of the Finance Team that is responsible for delivering consolidated financial and regulatory reporting to our local and global leadership teams.  


Reporting to the Executive Financial Reporting Manager, Irish Life Group, you will be responsible for financial and regulatory reporting for our two Irish group holding companies.

Key Accountabilities


•   Coordination and production of monthly / quarterly reporting to various Committees, including but not limited to the Board, Board Audit Committee and SLT. This reporting will be on different accounting basis (Canadian IFRS, EU-IFRS, FRS), including regulatory reporting under Solvency II.
•   Oversight of the quarterly and annual SII QRT production process.
•   Coordination and production of the annual SII narrative reporting process; the Solvency and Financial Condition Report (‘SFCR’) and the Regular Supervisory Report (‘RSR’).
•   Production of the local entity annual Financial Statements.
•   Working closely with various teams in Ireland (e.g. financial and regulatory reporting teams, FP&A, Actuarial) and with the European group holding company in the UK as part of the coordination, production and oversight processes, ensuring an understanding of the commercials being reported.
•   Coordination of the review processes of such reporting with senior leaders, including group and divisional CEOs, CFOs, Heads of Actuarial Functions, Group Financial Controller, etc.
•   Challenging the current process for gathering information in order to ensure the most efficient methods are used and our technology is used to its full potential. Standardising information where it feeds into multiple reports and working with stakeholder to ensure this is implemented.
•   Implement and monitor adherence to financial reporting and control policies in accordance with company and group requirements and standard accounting practices.
•   Oversee the development of new systems and procedures (where applicable) to meet the changing regulatory and business requirements and anticipated future needs of the business and/or stakeholders
•   Involvement in the successful delivery of projects as required from time to time.
•   Ensuring compliance with all relevant risk and regulatory requirements; proactively highlight any risks so that mitigating actions can be taken.

Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills


•   An accounting qualification & member of a recognised Accounting body (ACA, ACCA)
•   3+ years post qualification experience, ideally in a group reporting role
•   Experience with IFRS and Solvency II reporting desirable
•   Excellent analytical and problem solving ability
•   Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
•   Keen interest in finance systems and data analysis tools
•   Ability and desire to deliver process improvement
