This newly created position offers an experienced manager with strong operational, commercial and relationship building skills the opportunity to join an established group with a growing and profitable Irish operation.

Based in South Dublin, the General Manager will lead a clinical team and operational staff in achieving the groups strategic and commercial objectives. You will bring your knowledge of the HSE and private healthcare system to the forefront in developing and standardising business process, driving and achieving revenue growth target and nurturing key business relationship.

This position is likely to appeal to a commercial or business unit manager with experience gleaned from a clinical/healthcare/medical device setting looking to take that next step up into a leadership role with autonomy, visibility and responsibility. You will be commercially aware and experienced in delivering business growth.

Core Objectives:

  • Provide strong visible leadership across the business.
  • To ensure that the group achieves both strategic and operational goals, KPIs, and operates within financial budgets & targets.
  • Responsible for the preparation of strategic service development plans with support as required from the group Managing Director.
  • Determining and delivering a growth plan for the group 
  • Develop and introduce new and innovative business management systems to maximise the organisational efficiency and effectiveness of the service, sharing good practice.
  • Provide professional management and leadership for the clinical and operational teams.
  • To plan and implement a programme of continuous and evidence-based improvement in all aspects of the service area to ensure services are high quality, efficient, effective and patient-focused.
  • To take a key role in ensuring that all Managers are aware of the specific standards/targets they are responsible for and providing support to each manager to ensure delivery of same.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in the service area, ensuring that progressive solutions, which take into account models of best practice, are incorporated into service plans.
  • Full P&L and budget responsibility, ensuring all financial Instructions are adhered to and targets are met.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • Educated to Bachelor level or have equivalent experience in a business or health related field.
  • Professional management training/qualification.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience within the healthcare sector at manager level including operational responsibility for complex specialities/services.
  • Proven track record of achieving targets.
  • Strong IT skills, confident using systems for reporting and KPI tracking.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills.
