The Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP), the professional and training body for general practice in Ireland, has announced an EGM of its members on Sunday December 2nd 2018, to facilitate detailed discussion relating to the provision of termination of pregnancy services by GPs.
The Board received a petition calling for an EGM to discuss the concerns of some members regarding the provision of abortion services by general practitioners. This petition was not properly constituted, according to legal advice received by the Board members.
The College has written to all members this evening (Friday November 2nd), informing them of the EGM and the date it is being held. The time and venue of the meeting will be decided shortly.
