This position is based in the Waterford Plant and is a 4 cycle shift over a 12 month contract.

Laboratory Activities

•Environmental monitoring – sampling and testing

•Bioburden sampling & testing of in-process samples

•Water analysis & sampling

•Media preparation and control

•Documentation review & maintenance

•Trending data, management of Non-conformances & Laboratory investigations.  

•Management of repeat analysis

•Preparation and populating reports for Microbiology studies & trending data

•Identification analysis of isolates.

•Preparation of Protocol & reports

•Involvement in Quality Change Requests.

•Cleaning of laboratory/equipment, and waste management.

•Ordering & maintain Laboratory supplies to required levels.

•Develop appropriate actions in response to results generated.


•Schedule activities to meet timelines

•Participate in project work and plant wide initiatives

•Carry out all activities in compliance with company Safety, Environmental Standard Operating Procedures

•Manage reports required for compliance activities and effective management of the lab

•Maintain work areas in a clean & tidy manner at all times.

•Other duties as assigned by area supervision/management, including synergies with department.


•Qualification in Microbiology at primary degree or equivalent

•A min of 2 years’ experience in a regulated pharmaceutical or medical devise environment

•Experience in methods: bioburden analysis, water analysis and environmental monitoring, isolate identification.

•Experience in validation

•Experience of scientific report writing including SOP’s, protocols, deviations, reports etc.

•Ability to evaluate and access information to determine appropriate risk and required actions is critical
