Maintenance/Manufacturing Technician (Equipment)-Permanent

CREGG Recruitment are currently hiring Maintenance Technicians to work on a permanent basis with a world leading medical device client in Galway. If you are a qualified electrician OR have experience working on production line maintenance this is the role for you!

About the job:

This role is permanent and full time and offers an excellent benefits package including healthcare and pension, life assurance, dental etc. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and/or mechanical skills with experience working in a manufacturing company. Hours of work: Standard 39 hour week

Shift: Various shifts available depending on your preference to work either days or evenings or nights or weekends.

Key responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers in developing, trouble shooting, standardising and improving existing production methods and procedures.
  • Yield Management – Ability to manage yield on an hour by hour basis and analyse trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Problem Solving – Formal problem solving is desirable. Strong mechanical problem-solving skills essential. Follow systematic root cause problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on the production lines, completing all associated paperwork and records.
  • Effective analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems
  • Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment, changes and improvements
  • Assist ME’s in investigating and implementing new production methods.
  • Assist ME’s in design methods, part sourcing and documentation.
  • Communicates any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health or safety issues to their Manager.

 

Key requirements for this job:

  • Requires  Trade qualified candidates or minimum Diploma
  • Strong equipment knowledge
  • Ability to work on own with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record.
  • Microsoft office proficient 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Teamwork – Ability to work with operators, peers, engineering and other functions.
