Role Overview: 

An opportunity has arisen in the Marketing and CX function for a Retail Channel Manager. This is an exciting, challenging, hands-on role. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of Marketing strategy for retail, distribution and direct (end-user) customer sales channels, both digital and off-line. In addition, you will be responsible for market development, sourcing new channels and launching them into the channels. You will also be responsible for marketing programmes targeting the end consumer with a view to driving demand through the channels. Working on an all-island basis, this role will require flexibility and commitment to travel as you will be meeting customers, partners, suppliers and working closely with the Sales and Business Development teams 

Functions of the role/Main Responsibilities: 

Strategy Development • Develop and implement the Marketing Strategy for Calor’s cylinder market, ensuring it is aligned to the overall Marketing strategy • Manage the budget to ensure maximum return while achieving the strategic objectives • Develop and implement marketing plans to drive volumes for the Calor cylinder segment through different channels • Lead customer proposition development for existing and new customers • Manage all marketing communications and activity for the Calor cylinder market including ATL, BTL and Digital Market Segmentation • Manage Market segmentation, ensuring correct retailer and customer classification is captured on our CRM system • Ensure market and customer segmentation is the foundation that drives targeted Marketing activity • Utilise Market segmentation to drive the planning process for targeted retailer marketing support and, ultimately, drive cylinder gas and appliance sales to end users Channel Management: • Execution of channel plans in line with Business and Marketing Strategy • Grow product sales (both cylinder and gas appliances) through the channels • Manage and maintain relationships with key retailers, manufacturers, and distributors • Provide and manage marketing support to the Sales Team to assist in achieving their sales targets, ensuring excellent working relationships • Manage the merchandising of the retail channel, ensuring availability, delivery, and refreshment where necessary • Act as brand guardian throughout the channels, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and consistency of application • Work with key channel partners to ensure our objectives and targets are met • Liaise with key internal departments including Sales, Operations, IT and Finance. Market & Customer Insights • Actively employ market research as a tool to determine the best way forward for respective market segments • Understand and keep up to date with developments and current trends in the energy market, the general economy and specific market segments within the remit of this role Job Title: Retail Channel Manager Reports to: Strategic Segment Manager Location: Dublin/Belfast Contract Type: Permanent June 2022 • Ensure marketing propositions are innovative, customer focussed and market-led Innovations and Product Development • Champion innovations in our core gas cylinder offerings to deliver added value to our retailers and end users • Identify market opportunities and work alongside manufacturers to develop and launch new appliances which will deliver additional volume. • Identify new ways and approaches to improve Channel performance • Assist Sales team in identifying and capturing new stockists Influencers and Partners • Develop and manage key relationships between our channels and Installers to ensure we provide an effective and efficient gas installation experience for cylinder gas users • Drive and lead Calor’s Marketing programme for this key route to market • Maximise the opportunities for sales growth by managing and developing relationships with key Influencers and Partners Digital • Lead the development and design of digital strategy to support the objectives of the Commercial Cylinder Strategy • Create and grow a value-added digital offering to support our dealer network • Support delivery of Calor’s customer portal project by informing key functionality required for Cylinder end customers. Supplier Relationship Management • Work closely with Advertising Agency, PR company, Merchandising suppliers and print and design companies as required Other duties • Lead and participate in projects with the wider Marketing team and other functions in the Business • Ad hoc merchandising and localised marketing. • Any other duties as deemed reasonable by the company 

The Person Specification: •

Have 5 years’ experience of Marketing for retail and/or distribution channels, with a demonstrable and proven track record in delivering activity. • Hold a third level marketing or business-related degree. • Be a self-starter, with the ability to work on their own initiative. • Be a good strategic thinker who is also a doer. • Have strong inter-personal skills, enabling you to deal with a variety of stakeholders including regional sales managers, professional buyers, customers, and administration teams. • Ability to influence at all levels • Ideally have experience dealing with professional buyers and large retail chains. • Have experience in dealing with manufacturers and distributors in securing product for sales through a variety of channels including traditional retail and online. • Hold a full clean driving license and must have the capacity and flexibility to travel throughout the country as required. • Consider the customer viewpoint to be of paramount importance; always stops to consider how the activity will be considered by a customer. • Have a high degree of commercial awareness.
