A Senior Grade Medical Scientist position has arisen in the Biochemistry Department of Blackrock Clinic. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic scientist to join our team.
The large, busy laboratory supports Irelands leading and longest established private hospital. Blackrock Clinic has an unparalleled reputation for ground breaking diagnostics and high tech cardiac/ cardiothoracic and robotic surgical procedures. The hospital is at the forefront of critical care with a new 12 bed ICU and Emergency Department. Other specialties include Orthopaedics, Spinal, Oncology, General Medical and Surgical, ENT, Ophthalmic, Gynaecology, Urology and Plastic surgery.
The pathology department was one of the first in Ireland to be accredited by CPA in 2007 and is now fully accredited to ISO 15189. The biochemistry department has been awarded flexible scope for INAB.

Be registered on the Medical Scientists Register maintained by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU.
Hold a Level 9 post graduate qualification or equivalent qualification at minimum Level 9 validated by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine. Consideration will be given to people currently enrolled in an MSc who are not yet qualified
Possess four years clinical experience as a medical scientist in a clinical diagnostic laboratory since qualifying as a medical scientist.
Demonstrate evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
