The position of Technical Product Specialist is ideally suited to a self-motivated individual with a technical and mathematical ability to problem solve and resolve queries quickly and efficiently. The role is ideally suited to anyone working in Construction, Engineering, Technical Specific roles, or Engineering Graduates looking for a new career opportunity. 

This is a diverse and interesting role with the support of leading Technical Product Specialists in house providing ongoing training and support in current and new technologies or advancements in the field. The role will be varied and interesting with exciting opportunities to travel to brand market leaders gaining invaluable knowledge within your field of expertise.

  • Provide in depth knowledge and experience of specialist products and applications supported by mathematical calculations and expertise
  • Perform design analysis and product evaluation for specific construction requirements 
  • Provide technical support of product features and capabilities based on projects needs by providing solid judgement 
  • Utilise mathematical modelling to access projects needs and requirements 
  • Analyse design proposals and technical information to identify potential issues and offer alternative solutions 
  • Communicate with customers / potential customers in person, by phone or on site
  • Drive new business by consistently keeping up to date with construction activities and identify opportunities
  • Maintain and develop customer loyalty and support 
  • Keep up to date with all current and developing engineering trends including competitor activity 
  • Provide support to all technical sales staff and customer service as required 
  • Undertake continuous training and development 
  • Opportunity to assist in the development of industry standards and develop bespoke solutions for customers using industry knowledge
  • Comply with all Health & Safety Policies  

Key Attributes & Skills Required:

  • National Framework Qualification Min Level 6 within Engineering or Construction
  • Strong analytical, influencing skills and strategic thinking mindset with the ability to operate independently 
  • Strong ability to read technical drawings and perform technical calculations/analysis of product performance
  • Customer focused approach with excellent communication skills 
  • Self-motivated individual with a willingness to succeed 
  • Strong Computer literacy: MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Navision skills desirable but not essential
  • Full clean driving licence essential
