Regeneron is a leading biotechnology company that invents life-transforming medicines for people with serious diseases. Founded and led for over 30 years by physician-scientists, our outstanding ability to repeatedly and consistently translate science into medicine has led to nine FDA-approved treatments and numerous product candidates in development, all of which were homegrown in our laboratories.

Our medicines and pipeline are crafted to help patients with eye disease, allergic and inflammatory diseases, cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, infectious diseases, pain and rare diseases. Our mission is to use the power of science to bring new medicines to our patients.

Process Sciences is a technical services department that deals with a range of scientific, technical, engineering and mathematical needs from the laboratory to the manufacturing floor. Process Sciences support the following areas Upstream Sciences, Downstream Sciences, Analytical Technologies, IPC lifecycle, Data Analytics, Manufacturing Support, Process Validation and Process Solutions.

Supports the Process Sciences department to create bioprocess models using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and other techniques to generate technical solutions across the bio manufacturing platform.

Based at the Raheen site, the Process Engineer will work with mathematicians and scientists in Ireland. This role will focus on the use of advanced chemical and biochemical engineering modelling principles in the application of tools, specifically CFD, within manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Sources and assess appropriate technical data from manufacturing and other equipment across the network.
  • Create virtualized representations (geometries) of process components and flow regimes from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Working with the ANSYS Fluent application platform to generate corresponding model precursor CFD meshes
  • Working with the CFD team to create CFD models that are representative of process and equipment.
  • Works collaboratively with mathematicians and scientists across the network.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of CFD models using biochemical engineering and mathematical principles.
  • Prepare presentations summarizing project outcomes for management, supporting documentation and reports
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a team-oriented environment to ensure maximum and high-quality output.
  • Conduct extensive literature searches and reviews to identify materials in support of model development and validation.

Education and Experience:

  • BSc/BEng in Chemical and/or Biochemical Engineering, Mathematical Sciences or Physics. Some experience working with simulation tools such as ANSYS Fluent preferred but not essential.
