Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Act as technical expert / SME on utility systems on site.
  • Operation of central support utilities including Water, Steam, HVAC & associated BMS systems, Compressed air/gases, Refrigeration and Cooling systems.
  • Management and maintenance of site fire alarm and fire suppression/ response systems including coordination of loss prevention surveys.
  • Monitoring and maintaining operational status of all utility equipment and systems (scheduled and unscheduled) including end of line device (Durr RTO).
  • Fault finding and diagnostics on all utilities equipment and systems. Trouble-shoot equipment problems as required utilising maintenance system reports to identify bad actors.
  • Optimise the preventative maintenance program by regular review of performance. Deliver maintenance systems improvements and identify technical opportunities.
  • Manage and assist service vendors involved in utilities maintenance.
  • Identify/implement/co-ordinate utilities specific projects.
  • Provide technical input into systems optimisation, equipment development and new equipment selection.
  • Manage of site co-incineration activities in relation to site boiler and maintain IPPC license requirements.
  • Compiling utilities equipment performance reviews
  • Co-ordinate annual shutdown activities relating to utilities systems and equipment
  • Ensure utilities are compliant with current regulatory and best practice requirements and ensure equipment files and documentation are properly maintained.
  • Preparation of annual energy and water budgets for the site and monitoring usage.
  • Responsible for the site Energy management program, including compliance with Energy Management standard ISO:50001
  • Set up and periodically review maintenance service contracts.
  • Develop/update SOPs as required for utilities systems, equipment and maintenance operations.
  • Coordinate / provide training on Utilities systems to maintenance and operations colleagues as required.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Third level qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Marine Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Able to think strategically and creatively, and to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
